15th Annual
World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off
SHRIMP EATING CONTEST!Limited to 10 participants, this contest will pit competitors against each other, 3 minutes and mounds of boiled Gulf shrimp! Timers will be set for 3 minutes as contestants must peel and eat as many shrimp as they are able for a trophy and of course the bragging rights! Registration for this portion of the World's Championship Shrimp Cook-Off takes place in the Port Isabel Chamber booth on the cook-off grounds. Contest begins at 3:30 p.m. Contest is sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
SHRIMP EATING CONTEST RULES
1. Contestants must sign an entry form with liability and medical release waiver.
2. No entry fee.
3. Contestants must be at least 16 years of age.
4. Three minute time limit. Contestants MUST peel their own shrimp or be disqualified.
5. Contestants will be monitored for peeling and eating to ensure rules are followed.
6. When three minutes are up, remaining shrimp will be weighed to determine winner.
7. Drinking water and paper towels will be provided each contestant.
8. Winner will receive a trophy.
9. Each contestant receives a World's Championship Shrimp Cook-Off t-shirt.
