Port Isabel Chamber of Commerce’s 14th Annual World’s Championship Shrimp Cook-Off Wrap Up! Under picture perfect skies, 25 amateur and professional chefs expertly prepared over one ton of fresh Gulf shrimp for over 5,000 people. After the judges scores were tallied, there was a tie for third place in the professional division. And new to the Shrimp Cook-Off this year, the Shrimp Eating Contest was a crowd favorite. Fourteen contestants tested their peel and eat skills against a three pound and five minute challenge. The winner, David Reyes, took home bragging rights, a trophy and a $100 cash prize!
